Slitting is the core process in converting jumbo tape rolls into finished products of specific dimensions. Traditional cutting methods relied on manual visual alignment against scale markings and the manual operation of the carriage and cutting blade feed; this prone-to-error process caused operator eye fatigue, resulting in higher waste rates and lower productivity. Introduced in 2014, specialized CNC lathe technology for cutting jumbo rolls utilizes a CNC system to control a Z-axis slide (driven by a stepper motor) and an X-axis drive system (powered by a short-stroke pneumatic cylinder). This enables precise, automated slitting, significantly enhancing both product quality and production efficiency.

A slitting method proposed in August 2024 utilizes full-process automation to reduce the transition time between stages-such as unwinding, slitting, and labeling-by over 30%; this technology replaces traditional machine-wide positioning with a chuck-based positioning mechanism. Automated cutting equipment unveiled in April 2025 employs a linkage transmission mechanism, boosting cutting efficiency by more than fourfold while reducing material waste by approximately 15%. A CNC cutting technology patented in May 2025 utilizes Z-axis slide rails and an X-axis drive system to achieve a blade feed precision of ±0.05 mm, thereby reducing the incidence of slitting burrs to below 3%.
